Nevada for Health Care, an organization promoting health care reform, made a stop in Gardnerville at Antioch Coffee Co. on Nov. 6, during their statewide tour.
About twice the people expected to attend the event showed up, according to a spokesman for the restaurant.
"We have more than 12,000 voters in Nevada and over 50,000 voters nationwide that have pledged to only vote for a presidential candidate that will make health care a top priority," said the organization's campaign director Samantha Galing Gaddy.
"Our goal is to elect a presidential candidate who is dedicated to finding solutions so everyone in the United States has quality, affordable health care," said organization member Addie Crisp.
The tour consists of mock caucuses to prepare voters for Nevada's presidential caucus early next year.
"We want to make sure that everyone knows how easy it is to participate in the upcoming caucuses on Jan. 19," said Galing Gaddy. "It's important that they feel comfortable with the process and make their voices heard."
The tour will continue throughout the month, making stops in Reno, Carson City, Fallon, Fernley, Lovelock, Winnemucca, Elko and Ely. For more information call (702) 920-5914 or visit www.nvforhealthcare.org.
