Family Support holds bullying seminar

A discussion with child development educator Dr. Ann Corwin on "Violence Among Young People and Bullying" will be presented by the Purple Ribbon Coalition and the Family Support Council of Douglas County 6-8 p.m. April 11 at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

All families are invited to attend this event. Baby-sitting is provided, refreshments will be served.

Corwin is a 25-year veteran of parenting, consulting and child development education.

She holds a doctorate in marriage, family and child therapy, a masters degree in education and has made it her life's work to design and develop programs to ensure the health of families.

Corwin has worked with hospitals and non-profit organizations as a parent education director for 15 years.

Her focus on prevention helps families leave the multigenerational transmission of unhealthy traits behind while teaching new ways to cope, communicate and cooperate.

Licensed professionals are invited to attend a training session with Corwin 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 at Genoa Lakes Golf Resort.

Agenda topics for Strengthening Families with Toddlers From the Inside Out include: Understanding Attachment, Emotional Education, Teen and Toddler Violence Prevention and Bullying.
