Michigan fiddlers to teach workshop, perform

A fiddlers' workshop will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. July 3 in the Genoa Town Hall and is open to string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) with two or more years of experience on their instruments. The workshop is free, but since enrollment is limited, those interested should pre-register by phoning workshop coordinator, John O'Neill, 267-3495. While the workshop is geared to student musicians, adults will also be accepted if there is room.

The workshop is taught by the Saline Fiddlers, added to this year's annual Fourth of July, Pops in the Park extravaganza. The group of high school musicians from Saline, Mich., will provide one of the preliminary attractions for the event. The fiddlers have been touring the country for 14 years and have more than 900 performances to their credit - including at the White House and at Kennedy Center in New York City.
