Rotary seeks young ambassadors

Interested in spending April in Brazil as part of a Rotary goodwill exchange? Rotary District 5190 and Minden Rotary are accepting applications for the 2008 Group Study Exchange to Brazil.

Young business professionals 25 to 40 years old are encouraged to apply by Aug. 31. Group Study Exchange is one of the programs funded by the Rotary Foundation with the purpose to promote understanding and goodwill throughout the world. Group Study Exchange team members travel in a group of four with a Rotarian team leader. During the month-long visit to Brazil, the team is exposed to culture, cuisine, history and business aspects in the state of Sao Paolo in southern Brazil as guests of Rotary District 4520. The team will stay in the homes of Brazilians and learn about Brazil's rich family life and customs.

Team members are provided an orientation prior to their departure and are required to give presentations about their journey to their home communities upon their return.

Speaking Portuguese is desirable but not required. Applicants may download the Group Study Exchange Team Member application from www.rotary.org. Contact the group study exchange chairman at (530)470-2802 or adaniels@citizensbanknc.com.
