After capturing a silver medal in last year's X Games Moto X Freestyle event, Minden resident Adam Jones pulled off one of the biggest upsets of this year's X-Games by topping Nate Adams for the gold.
Jones earned a 94.40 mark while executing two new moves that hadn't been used in X Games competition before, the saran and shalin flips.
Adams was the event favorite coming in after an impressive season on the Dew Tour leading up to the X Games. He finished with a score of 93.6.
Douglas High grad Matt Buyten won a silver medal Friday in the Moto X Step Up event.
