ValleyVibrations

For lack of something heart-stirring to say about music this week, I thought I'd share something that we discovered on our new Firefox favorites this morning, that I have no idea how it got there. "Rolling Stone" magazine came up, and my morning Internet junkie discovered it listed the Best of the Rolling Stone awards. For lack of space, here are some highlights.

Top 10 of 100 greatest artists are: 1. The Beatles; 2. Bob Dylan; 3. Elvis Presley; 4. The Rolling Stones; 5. Chuck Berry; 6. Jimi Hendrix; 7. James Brown; 8. Little Richard; 9. Aretha Franklin; 10. Ray Charles.

Top 10 of 500 greatest albums are: 1. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," The Beatles; 2. "Pet Sounds," The Beach Boys; 3. "Revolver," The Beatles; 4. "Highway 61 Revisited," Bob Dylan; 5. "Rubber Soul," The Beatles; 6. "What's Going On," Marvin Gaye; 7. "Exile on Main Street," The Rolling Stones; 8. "London Calling," The Clash; 9. "Blonde on Blonde," Bob Dylan; 10. "The Beatles" ("The White Album"), The Beatles.

Top 10 of 500 greatest songs are: 1. "Like a Rolling Stone," Bob Dylan; 2. "Satisfaction," The Rolling Stones; 3. "Imagine," John Lennon; 4. "What's Going On," Marvin Gaye; 5. "Respect," Aretha Franklin; 6. "Good Vibrations," The Beach Boys; 7. "Johnny B. Goode," Chuck Berry; 8. "Hey Jude," The Beatles; 9. "Smells Like Teen Spirit," Nirvana (my kids like this); 10. "What'd I Say," Ray Charles.

Sorry country-western folks. Let me know if you have anything in your genre you'd like to run!

Until next week, keep on playin'!
