Ellen M. Butler

1925-2007

A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City for native Nevadan Ellen M. Butler, 81, who died March 26, 2007.

Mrs. Butler was born July 18,1925, in Ely to Oscar Carl and Ann Victoria Turnquist. She graduated from White Pine County High School in 1943 and the University of Nevada in 1947. She taught business classes at Douglas High School for 32 years, retiring in 1981. She was senior class advisor and advisor for the school yearbook for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was a resident of Carson City.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Butler in 1979 and two brothers Edward and Richard Turnquist. She is survived by her niece Christie Turnquist of Portland, Ore.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Burial will take place at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.
