Senior center activities offered starting Sunday



Douglas County Senior Center in Gardnerville has planned its activities for the month of April.


-- Sunday is Young At Heart Bingo. Doors open at noon, early bird games commence at 1 p.m. and regular games at 1:30 p.m. Free popcorn and coffee are provided and other food items such as hot dogs and chili may be purchased at the snack bar. The progressive pot is $450 and 55 numbers. Participants must be 21 years old or older. For information call the center at 783-6455.


-- On April 21st, 6-10 p.m., the senior center in Gardnerville is sponsosring another dance since the last one was so successful.


Music will be provided by the musical group Don and Nadine. Dance lessons by Bob Truesdale will be offered from 6-7 p.m. in preparation for the dance.


"This was very enjoyable and worthwhile for those who are rusty at dancing," said Young at Heart president Paul Lockwood. "And Bob is a great instructor."


Admission is $5, refreshments will be provided. The center is located at 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 783-6455.
