Grab your steins for Oktoberfest

Welcome to the traditional fall event, Oktoberfest. Join the Carson Valley Sertoma Club during its 16th annual celebration from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. This year the event will take place at a new location, in Heritage Park in Gardnerville. Admission is free.

The club puts on a party, with family things to do including dancing, games, vendors and more. Music provided by Al Gruber's Bavarian Band is from 12:30-4:30 p.m. A variety of German food will be served from noon-4 p.m., along with special Oktoberfest brews.

So, get out your steins, your lederhosen, fancy Bavarian dresses, lawn chairs or blankets and come to Oktoberfest on Sunday.

All the monies raised by Sertoma events are given back to the community in numerous ways throughout the year. For more information, call Dave Rich, 265-3099.

Heritage Park is located on the corner of Gilman Avenue and Courthouse Alley. To get there, traveling south on Highway 395, make a left at Gillman, going north on 395, make a right at Gilman, go one block.
