Paul A. Foerstel


1945-2006


A memorial took place Tuesday at the Topaz Lodge and Casino Buffet Room for Paul Foerstel, 61, who died Aug. 8, 2006, in a Carson City hospital. Mr. Foerstel was a 12 year resident of Topaz Ranch Estates.


Mr. Foerstel was born March 23, 1945, in California.


He survived in the U.S. Navy and was currently employed at Topaz Lodge and Casino as a prep-cook.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Foerstel. He is survived by his daughter Paula Foerstel and his son Vincent Foerstel.


Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary.




June V. Hanahan


1921-2006


June V. Hanahan, 85, a five year resident of Gardnerville, died at her home Sept. 5, 2006.


She was born May 16, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Henry and Neah Steverding. She was a high school graduate and married Walter Hanahan on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1941. Previously a resident of Vallejo, Calif., she enjoyed playing bridge and reading mysteries. She loved traveling and took cruises all over the world.


She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Hanahan in 1983 in Los Altos, Calif. as well as both her parents.


She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Neil Lantz of Gardnerville; Son and daughter-in-law Michael and Sandi Hanahan of Redding, Calif.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.




Christopher


Adam Leach


1974-2006


A memorial service and celebration of life will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Carson City Senior Center for Chistopher Adam Leach, 32, who died Aug. 30, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at the top of Dayton Hill. There will be a potluck buffet, please bring a dish to share.


He was born March 20, 1974, in Vallejo, Calif., and lived in areas surrounding Carson City and Dayton for the majority of his life. He served in the Nevada Army National Guard and the U.S. Army for a total of eight years including tours in Germany, Macedonia and Bosnia.


He was a 1993 graduate of Carson High School and was last employed as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycle riding, and having a good time.


He is survived by his parents, Lawrence L. and Krista E. Leach of Carson City; sister Andria L. Edwards of Sparks; nieces Evelyn K. Edwards and Maya N. Booth of Sparks; nephew Tristan S. Edwards of Lemoore, Calif.; numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and his girlfriend Lena Reseck of Dayton.


Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Carson City Funeral Home in Carson City.




Thomas Orr


1923-2006


Memorial services were Sept. 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville for Thomas Orr, 83, who died Sept. 1, 2006, at his home in Minden.


Mr. Orr was born July 8, 1923, in Onawa, Iowa, to Robert and Stella Carnes Orr. He worked for Bekins for 35 years and lived in Long Beach, Calif., before moving to Minden.


He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Herrin Orr.


He is survived by his wife Allene Blower Orr of Minden; son Thomas Daniel Orr of Great Mills, Md.; daughter Judith Young of Oroville, Calif.; stepdaughters Carllene Napolitano of Gardnerville, Kerry Kirkham of Walnut Creek, Calif., Sherry Kirkham of Pacheco, Calif.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Cremation to take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.
