Clothes make the man

A 36-year-old Carson City man who concealed a video game, cell phone, two shirts and an extra pair of pants in his clothing was jailed Oct. 28 on $25,000 bail on a commercial burglary charge.

Store personnel contacted deputies to report a larceny in progress after observing Matthew Gene Dunn opening packages with a knife and stuffing a video game down his pants.

They recognized the suspect from prior visits to the store.

When deputies arrived, they found the video game in Dunn's pants and a cellphone case.

They also found two shirts he had wrapped at the base of both ankles and a pair of sweatpants he was wearing under his trousers.

Dunn had no money or identification at the time of his arrest.

n A 20-year-old Home Depot employee was arrested Oct. 27 for reportedly taking $818.36 from the store in a bogus product return scheme.

Sarah Renee Bylinski of Carson City reportedly admitted the phony transactions and said she used the money to pay bills and make car payments.

Deputies are investigating a report that she was assisted one time by a coworker.

The transactions occurred Oct. 4 through Oct. 27.
