CVMS 8th-graders stay strong



The Carson Valley Middle School eighth-graders are still undefeated on the year after beating up on Carson, South Tahoe and Incline.


Austin Neddenriep scored 15 points, Kameron Van Winkle scored nine and Theo Denson, Matt Williams and Chris Downs scored six each in a 45-14 win over Carson.


Neddenriep scored 17, Matt Thomas put up eight, Van Winkle scored six and Christian Neilander and Matt Williams scored five each in a 58-16 win over South Tahoe.


Neddenriep again led the team in a 35-19 win over Incline, scoring 17 points with 11 coming in the third quarter alone. Thomas added six points in the win.


Carson Valley is 7-0 overall on the year and 5-0 in league play.


In seventh-grade action, Matt Wylie scored 10 points in a 39-25 loss to Carson and had 12 points in a 45-16 win over South Tahoe.


Nick Maestretti, Adrian Duenas and Noah Thew each scored six points in the win.


Maestretti had 14 points and Wylie had nine in a 34-31 win over Incline. Carson Valley was down by eight entering the fourth quarter and came back to win.


The seventh-graders are 6-1 overall and 4-1 in league play.
