An open house is planned to celebrate final payment of the bond on the Carson Valley Swim Center. The final payment on the East Fork Swimming Pool District Construction bond was made this month and the district will celebrate this 20 milestone on Saturday with free admission offered all day and a list of special events:
n Meet Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to noon.
n Discover scuba from 10:30 to noon.
n Kayaking demonstration 10 a.m. to 11: 30
n Symbolic "burning of the bond" at noon.
n Douglas High School diving team demonstration
n Water exercise class (all welcome to participate) 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
n 'Dolfin' team demonstrations and information booth: hourly
n Facility tours at half-hour intervals 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
n Water polo 4:30-6 p.m. (diving boards will be closed).
The pool will open at 7:30 a.m. for seniors and adults. Children are invited to attend at 10 a.m. The pool closes at 6 p.m.
