The R-C Morning Report

Welcome to Thanksgiving week, which boasts a heck of a lot of "mosts" including the shortest government work week, busiest travel day and busiest retail sales day.

If you've got any business with county, state or federal offices, conduct it Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, because besides Thanksgiving, every one of those offices is closed for Family Day.

Never fear, we're still working on the Wal-Mart story. We're told the billboards south of Gardnerville will be the first signs of work on the Washoe Tribal land where the big retailer is rumored to be heading. Stay tuned.

There's a very slight chance of rain today improving to a slight chance tonight. What there will be for certain is a southwest breeze of about 15 mph with gusts of up to 26 mph. Nothing spectacular, just enough to make you hang onto your hat. The chance of precipitation cranks all the way up to 30 percent on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
