Firefighters award young lemonade stand entrepreneur

Seven-year-old Jim Matthews decided to run a lemonade stand this summer, but instead of spending or saving the proceeds for himself, he wanted to give it to the local fire station's burn fund program.

Either his lemonade was really, really good or customers were sympathetic to his cause, or both, because Jim ended up raising $75.

On Thursday, Jim received a certificate from East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts Gardnerville Ranchos Station No. 7 firefighters at Under the Magic Pine Tree.

Jim grinned as firefighters Cory Bergstrom, Jeff Marsh and Jeff James handed him the large framed certificate almost as big as his body.
