Diamond Valley School holds annual Block DV ceremony

Nicole Bennett will receive the $1,000 Wilma Rule American Indian Scholarship at Diamond Valley Elementary School's Block DV ceremony Thursday.

Bennett plans to attend the American Indian University in Lawrence, Kan. She is the daughter of Greg and Dale Bennett of Woodfords, Calif.

As many as 20 students receive Block DV letters for scholarship and school and community service at the Block DV ceremony.

Students received points for academic achievement, athletics, leadership and service such as academic counseling, working on the yearbook and participating in the science fair.

Students who previously received the Block DV letter will be awarded Block DV pins.

The Block DV ceremony is 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Diamond Valley Elementary School, 35 Hawkside Drive, in Woodfords.
