Indian Student Awards announced

The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California will recognize Indian youth for school success in events in Carson Valley, Woodfords and Carson City.

Elementary school programs: 6 p.m. April 29, at Meneley Elementary School in the Gardnerville Ranchos; at 5:30 p.m. May 13 at Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City; in the community gym at 6 p.m. May 26 in Woodfords; and at 6:30 p.m. May 20 at Bordewich Bray Elementary School in Carson City.

Middle school programs: at 5:30 p.m. May 13 in the Native Youth Resource Building in Gardnerville, and 6 p.m. May 12 in the Carson Middle School cafeteria in Carson City.

Indian high school youth in the tribal service area who completed the school year receive invitations to attend the annual high school recognition dinner May 6 in the upstairs cafeteria at Carson High School. Career booths open at 5 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m. Outstanding seniors receive special recognition.
