Parks & Recreation offers summer camps

Douglas County Parks & Recreation sponsor camps at The Discovery Center for ages 4-6. The camps include theme-oriented, hands-on activities. Children need to bring a packed lunch and wear light clothes for water and dirt activities in the following themes:


n June 5-9, Fine Feathered Friends - Create feeders, houses for birds in our back yard.


n June 12-16, Beautiful Bugs - Explore lives of six-legged friends.


n June 19-23, Slithery & Slimy Reptiles & Amphibians - Slither along, learning about snakes, frogs.


n June 26-30, Dynamic Dinosaurs - Dig up tons of fun with these creatures of the past.


n July 10-14, Lost in Space - Enjoy space exploration.


n July 17-21, Ooey Gooey Squishy Plop - A week-long adventure in hands-on science.


Camps are two days on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $30 a week, or three days on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for $50 a week, or five days for $80 a week, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Sign up at the recreation office, 1327 Waterloo Lane, 782-9828.
