Douglas sweeps Damonte Ranch' baseball

D.J. Brady and Tyler May turned in two dominating pitching performances Monday afternoon as the Douglas baseball team swept Damonte Ranch 5-1, 10-4 in south Reno.

May, a freshman, picked up the first win of his career, striking out 10 and walking three while pitching a two-hitter in the 5-1 opener.

Ryan Pruitt went 3-for-3 in the game with two RBIs while Brady went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Roman Davis also drove in a run for the Tigers.

Brady matched May's strikeout total in the second game, fanning 10 and walking two while scattering four hits in the 10-4 win.

He also homered and went 2-for-4 in the game.

Ryan Laing doubled, Willie Morgan went 2-for-4 and Davis drove in two runs. Laing, Pruitt, Morgan and Chris Kinsley each had an RBI as well.

Douglas improved to 5-7 overall and 3-3 on the year.

Douglas picked up an 8-7 win against Damonte Ranch Tuesday and topped McQueen earlier last week.

"We started out a little slow," Douglas coach Tim Davis said. "We're very young - only four sophomores - but we've started to click over the last week or so."
