Sales of artwork during Carson Valley Days benefit Coalition for a Boys & Girls Club

An art show will take place at Artistic Viewpoints to honor Carson Valley Days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 10-11.

Artistic Viewpoints will be offering 5 percent of all sale proceeds from the art show and gallery sales during the Carson Valley Days weekend to be donated to the Coalition for a Boys & Girls Club in Carson Valley.

The show will feature the up-and-coming artists in the Valley. Students of the many art classes offered by Artistic Viewpoints will be displaying their work for sale. For some of these artists, it is the first time their work has been shown to the public.

The works will include the students from Arlene Origoni's pastel class, offered every Thursday afternoon,12:30-2 p.m. and also the works from Karen Aleman's adult and children's classes with adults drawing classes offered on Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to noon and children's drawing classes on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon. Other student work on display will feature watercolor art from Teri Sweeney's watercolor classes offered every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and evening class 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. as well as oil paintings representing Ray Freeman's students from his class offered on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.

The children's art will be hung in the teaching studio throughout the weekend. The adult work will be in tents in the parking lot. The gallery has 12-15 adult students, and 10-12 children that will be participating in the event. There will be a "meet the artists" reception at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Most of the artwork by the adult artists will be on sale. Don't miss this opportunity to buy original art from talented artists at below-gallery pricing.
