The Douglas County Public Library and Douglas County Animal Control are sponsoring a raptor release 4 p.m. on Aug. 7. Meet at the Carson Valley Middle School athletic field at 1475 Highway 395 in Gardnerville. Nancee Goldwater from Douglas County Animal Control will talk about raptors in the Carson Valley before releasing a rehabilitated hawk.
