Summer family concert series coming

The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department will sponsor the 10th Summer Family Concert in the Park Series. Spend an evening with family and friends at Minden Park and enjoy music all summer long. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, sponsored by the Carson Valley Active 20/30 Club.

All concerts are free of charge because of the contributions of local businesses and organizations. If your business or organization would like to sponsor a concert, contact Keris Meyers-Dahlkamp, recreation coordinator at 782-9828.

Concert schedule:

n May 26 - Rip Tides (a tribute to Beach Boys), sponsored by the Carson Valley Inn

n June 30 - Mumbo Gumbo (a zesty stew of Zydeco, Caribbean, Tex-Mex and more)

n July 14 - Deja Blues, (soul, rock and blues)

n July 28 - Stork Raven Mad Bank (classic rock)

n Aug. 25 - Jeff Jones Band (jazz and blues)
