Choose your hat; it's high time for tea

A few St. Gall Women's Society committee members for "The Best of Yesterday" High Tea got together at Carol Bennis' home to try on vintage hats that they will wear as hostesses for the event.

In attendance were committee co-chairs Carol Bennis and Nancy Rubino, hostess Sally Wiley, publicity Rita Hill, donation committee Pat Brunner and ticket committee Leslie Solt. They were treated to a few samples of breads, jams and mini sandwiches and tea.

"They had a great time admiring the collection of hats that Carol has acquired over the years," said Hill.

These planning committees are working to get everything ready for the High Tea, 1 p.m. March 4 in the St. Gall Catholic Church Pastoral Center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Hostesses will serve each table and provide a special theme for their table. Antique dealers will be on hand to give free verbal appraisals for one small antique per guest.

This event is the main fundraiser for the St. Gall Women's Society this year. Different groups of Red Hatters from Reno, Carson and surrounding areas are planning to attend.
