Wayne Sulo Aho

1916-2006

A celebration of life is 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Unity Church of Today, 1701 Lucerne, in Minden for Wayne Sulo Aho, 89, an 11-year resident of Gardnerville, who died Jan. 16, 2006 in Carson City.

Mr. Aho was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Woodland, Wash. He was married to Lee Aho, 1980 in Tacoma, Wash. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a major in Army intelligence.

He saw action in Normandy, landing at Omaha Beach on D-day for which he received a Purple Heart. He was president and founder of the New Age Foundation. He was a member of the VFW and the Civilian Conservation Corp.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Hewitt. He is survived by his wife Lee Aho, daughter Alayne McGhie, one grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden is in care of the arrangements. Mr. Aho is to be cremated.

Alicia Jimenez

1915-2006

A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gall Catholic Church for Alicia Jimenez, 90, who died Feb. 7, 2006, at her home in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Jimenez was born July 19, 1915 in El Paso, Texas to Juan B. and Tomasa Enriquez Calderon. She was a high school graduate and married Eugene Jimenez, July 3, 1938 in Hollywood, Calif. Mrs. Jimenez was a homemaker and a resident of Gardnerville for four years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Jimenez, June 14, 1971 in Los Angeles, Calif.; her daughter Lily Lopez, March 29, 1998 and brother Johnny Calderon on May 28, 1975.

She is survived by her children Almita of Gardnerville, Frank of Sylmar, Calif., step-children Gene of New York and Millie of Altadena, Calif. as well as 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. A viewing will take place 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 and a Rosary will be said 7 p.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Beverly Ethyl Logan

1932-2006

Beverly Ethyl Logan, 64, died in Gardnerville, Jan. 7, 2006. She was born Oct. 4, 1932 in California. Married for 43 years as of Jan. 21, 2006 in Reno to Richard Logan.

She loved golfing with a 15 handicap and two holes in one, her roses, video poker and slots.

She is survived by her husband Richard Logan of Carson City; daughter Carol and son-in-law Ernie Morrow of North Carolina; son Steven Paine and daughter-in-law Angela Lo Giurato of Carson City; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and sisters Della Gallagher of San Leandro, Calif., Doris Mercer and Lela Tuttle of Sanger, Calif.

Arrangements are in the care of Family Options Funeral and Tribute Services of South Lake Tahoe. Memorial services took place in Sanger, Calif.
