The R-C Morning Report

The Nevada Supreme Court overturned the state tax commission's assessment of 14 properties in Incline Village. How that will affect Douglas County is anybody's guess, but we'll do our best to find out in the next few days.

It's going to be sunny today, but it will be a weak sun that will do little to warm up the Valley. With a predicted high of 31 degrees, it won't do much to melt ice. But never fear, Saturday will warm up to 41 and Sunday will be even warmer than that as a weak system comes through Western Nevada. There's a 30 percent chance of snow on New Year's Eve. Before sunset it's 10 degrees in Genoa and 14 degrees in Gardnerville.

There's a 100 percent chance of partying at Stateline and a few other choice locations on Sunday. Remember to designate a driver and be nice to the officers, they're there to protect you and your friends from the crazy drunk guy. You know the one. He takes off his clothes and swings from a light pole, which is funny until he falls on you. Or decides he doesn't like you and takes a swing at you. That guy.

The morning report will be dark Monday morning unless something spectacular happens. And then it might not even be morning. Have a happy and save New Year and see you in 2007.
