Robin R. Bodden

1956-2006

A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden for Robin R. Bodden, 50, who died Sept. 10, 2006, in Minden.

Mr. Bodden was born July 7, 1956, in Coral Gables, Fla., to Bertram Ellington and Lucille Ellen. He was a graduate of Reseda High School in 1974 and graduated Northrup University in California. He was in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne from 1974-1978 and was owner/operator of General Avionics doing aircraft repair. He was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church.

Mr. Bodden was preceded in death by his father in 1982 and his mother Lucille, both residents of Carson City, in 2001.

He is survived by his sisters Barbara Bodden of Carson City, Julie Bodden of Chatsworth, Calif.; brothers Gary Bodden, Timothy Bodden both of Carson City; nieces and nephews Mindy, Tina, Tim Jr., Greg, Brian, Andrew, Sam and Aaron.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden. Burial to take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Memorial donations can be made to Douglas County Search and Rescue.

Lee Gray

1926-2006

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today in the American Fork Pacific Drive 2nd Ward, 500 W. 700 N. Utah, for Junior Lee Gray, 80, who died Dec. 3, 2006, in American Fork, Utah.

Mr. Gray was born April 6, 1926, in Paris, Idaho to Jesse Silas and Della Lee Gray.

He married Mary Thelma Lawrence Nov. 22, 1950, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and Utah State Agriculture College in Logan, Utah, where he graduated in 1952 as a vocational agriculture teacher. He taught vocational classes in Richfield and Aberdeen, Idaho, and Gardnerville for 34 years. He enjoyed working with the Future Farmers of America students. Mr. Gray was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Islands.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many different capacities. He and his wife fulfilled an LDS mission in Charlotte, NC from 1992-1994. They've also served as temple workers in the Oakland, Calif. and Reno temples.

Mr. Gray enjoyed supporting his sons and grandchildren in their various sporting activities, traveling, outdoor activities, and bowling. He had a gift when it came to creating, building, or working on anything with his hands that he then shared with those around him.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lawrence; daughter Linda and son-in-law Rex Ginn of Howe, Idaho; four sons: Jerry and his wife Jan Gray; Steven and his wife Marilyn Gray of Carson City; Paul and his wife Laurie Gray of Sparks and Jeffrey and his wife Tonia Gray of American Fork, Utah; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters.

Arrangements are in the care of Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork, Utah. A visitation will be at the church 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will take place in the American Fork Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to andersonmortuary.com. Richard W. Naumann

1944-2006

Richard W. Naumann, 62, a resident of Gardnerville since 1979, died at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Oct. 25, 2006.

Mr. Naumann was born July 12, 1944, in Cushing, Okla., to Elmer and Lucille Naumann. He worked in the casino industry and after retirement he was the owner/operator of Two Chocolatiers in the Gardnerville Ranchos. He had a keen sense of humor and a fine wit. He had an adventuresome spirit and was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He survived by his daughter Tracy and her husband James Hildman of Gardnerville; son Richard Naumann of Carson City; grandson James Hildman of Gardnerville; sisters Nancy Bradbury of Atlantic City, N.J. and Donna Geisler of Springfield, Ore. as well as four nieces and one nephew.

No services have been planned and cremation took place in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Joyce S. Simpson

1937-2006

Joyce S. Simpson, 69, of Weaverville, N.C., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at home.

Born Jan. 19, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward L. and Mary Dolores (Joyce) Stein. She married Richard W. Simpson on Oct. 9, 1983, in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; three children, Jill (Rob) Vest of DeKalb, John (Felicia) Justin of Florence, Mont., and Lauren (Phil) Evans of Darlington, S.C.; two stepchildren, Carl Simpson of Kansas City, Mo., and Dale (Debbie) Simpson of Oswego; six grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Vest of DeKalb, Erin Lamz of Darlington, Brad and D.J. Simpson of Kansas City and Kristy Simpson of Oswego; two sisters, Mary Ann Mueller of Grass Valley, Calif., and Marcella Brady of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Stein.

Cremation has taken place in Asheville, N.C. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Foundation.

The couple lived in Carson Valley from 1999 - 2005.

Alice May Wills

1936-2006

A private spreading of ashes in Hope Valley will be Sunday for Alice May Wills, 69, who died at her Minden home Dec. 2, 2006.

Mrs. Wills was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Elkhart, Ind., to Marion Lantz and Dorthy Young. She was married June 16, 1956, to Don Wills in Gardnerville. She was a homemaker and a resident of Minden for 29 years. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her father Marion Lantz and her grandson Johnathan Wills. She is survived by her husband Don Wills of Minden, daughter Denise Clendenen of Carson City, son Daniel Wills of California, David Wills of Gardnerville, Dale Wills of Coos Bay, Ore., her mother Dorthy Young, her brother Jerry Lantz as well as 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Cremation took place at Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society.
