Marvin Reed Kirk

1931-2006

Marvin Reed Kirk of Gardnerville died Dec. 12, 2006, in Minden of injuries he received in a traffic accident. He was 75.

His wife Pauline, to whom he had been married for 41 years, also died.

Mr. Kirk was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Springfield, Colo., to William J. and Quma Laura Savage Kirk. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Fresno, Calif., and also lived in Anaheim, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Kirk, who married in Mexico on Sept. 18, 1965, had been Gardnerville residents for 13 years.

He was a roofer and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, based in Oceanside, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard Kirk, sister Bonnie Kramer, and daughter Debra Rae Kirk of Stateline.

Mr. Kirk is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Corkey Crandal of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Stephanie Kirk and Cassandra Miller of Gardnerville, and Clayton and Spencer Crandal of Huntington Beach; nephews Ronald Kramer and Joe Papero and niece Linda Papero.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Pauline Kirk

1924-2006

No services have been announced for 13-year Gardnerville resident Pauline Kirk, 82, who died Dec. 12, 2006, in Reno from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs. Kirk was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Pennsylvania to Lawrence and Julia Stelmah.

She married Marvin Reed Kirk on Sept. 18, 1965 in Mexico. She lived in Anaheim, Calif., before moving to Gardnerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Theresa Mowern in Carson City in 2003, Helen McBane in Warren, Ohio, in 2004; brothers Joseph Stelmah, in Ontario, Calif., in 1972 and John Stelmah in Sun City, Calif., in 2006 and daughter Debra Kirk of Stateline in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lynnette and Corky Crandal of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sisters Mary Sarsany of Washington and Margaret Stelmah of New York; grandchildren Stephanie Kirk, Cassandra Miller, Clay Crandal and Spencer Crandal, niece and nephew Linda and Joe Papero of Gardnerville.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Clayton John Wills

1967-2006

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Clayton John Wills, 39, who died Dec. 9, 2006, at his home in Gardnerville.

Mr. Wills was born June 19, 1967, in Carson City to Dennis and Marilyn Wills. He was a 1985 graduate of Douglas High School. Prior to moving to Gardnerville three years ago, he was a resident of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and Carson City. He was a construction worker, he built cabinets and refinished furniture.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Nick Uhart who died in Minden in 1985; his grandfather Eugene Wills who died in 1964 and grandmother Iona Wills who died in 1990 in Carson City. He is survived by his sons Steven McMartin of Carson City and Trever Wills of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; his parents Dennis and Marilyn Wills; grandmother Ada Uhart, brother Randall and his wife Sherry Wills of Topaz Ranch Estates as well as niece Stephanie Lange, nephew Steve Wills and cousins.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden. Cremation to take place at Walton's Sierra Crematory with burial to take place at Mottsville Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the memorial garden at St. Gall Catholic Church.
