The R-C Morning Report

One of the last chances to hear all four Republican candidates for Assembly District 39 will be today at noon.

The Sierra Nevada Republican Women will be hosting John Dicks, Rick Gardner, James Settelmeyer and Barbara Smallwood at their monthly meeting at Two Guys from Italy. Getting in might be an issue, as reservations were supposed to be obtained by noon. Go to www.snrw.org to find out more.

There won't be any problem getting in the Joy of Soaring this evening at Carson Valley Middle School in Gardnerville.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the program that features renowned New Zealand soaring pilot Gavin Wills.

The movie starts at 7 p.m.

The countdown begins to the election. There are only three more days of early voting, which wraps up Friday and then Election Day on Tuesday.

There's no question the primary offers a substantial range of choices for candidates, and there has been lots of information available about the candidates. So, it's time to pull the lever, or at least insert the card, and chose.

On Friday there will be a gathering at Mormon Station Historic State Park to remember a quiet man who meant a lot to Genoa.

John S. Henningsen died July 29, 2006, and the family has had a quiet service.

John was one of the chief backers of the Save Historic Genoa effort in 2000 to fight construction of a large commercial development in downtown.
