Seniors take a hike, have a potluck and social



n On Saturday, May 6, Douglas County Senior Center is planning the first hike of the season along the Carson River. It will be a 3-mile walk with no elevation gain. Interested seniors must sign up at the center for a place on the bus which will depart at 8 a.m. Walkers are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring lunch and water. The cost is $1 per person.


n On Sunday, May 7, the Young at Heart Club is having a potluck and social at the Douglas County Senior Center. Doors open at 11 a.m. Participants are asked to bring a food item (main dish, salad or dessert) that serves at least six to eight people. This is an occasion to meet old and new friends in the area. Table games will be available for those interested.
