Valley singers perform in choir at Tahoe college



The Tahoe Choir and Lake Tahoe Community College chorus will be performing the German Requiem by Johannes Brahms at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in South Lake Tahoe May 5 at 8 p.m. and May 7 for a 3 p.m. matinee, under the direction of Linda Mitchell with Salli Parker accompanying. Both performances will open with Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D minor, with Maureen Leonard on the organ.


The Tahoe Choir includes singers from the South Lake Tahoe area, Carson Valley and Carson City.


Tickets are available now - adults cost $10, seniors and students $8. Tickets can be purchased from embers of the choir as well as the Lake Tahoe Community College bookstore. They may also be purchased at the door 45 minutes before each performance.


To get to St. Theresa's Catholic Church, go west on Highway 50, turn left on Lyons Avenue, church is on the left, 1041 Lyons Ave.


The Tahoe Choir is a non-profit organization that has performed for more than 30 years.
