Lenten Walk theme of women's retreat

A free Ecumenical Women's Retreat, "Lenten Walk 2005," is Feb. 26 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community, 3000 N. Lompa Lane.

The retreat is from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; check-in is 8:30-9 a.m. Space is limited, and preregistration is required. Child care is available upon request at time of preregistration.

Local choir joins seminary chorus

The Concordia Seminary Chorus of St. Louis will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1837 Mountain St.

Choir members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will participate with the Seminary Chorus on Johann Michael Bach's "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and on Psalm 130. The chorus will also perform music by Rene Clausen, Melchior Franck, Felice Anerio and Healy Willan.

This will be the chorus' only Nevada appearance during its spring tour. The sacred concert will include prayer, scripture readings, congregational hymns and psalms.

The Concordia Seminary Chorus is a male chorus of seminary students studying to be pastors in the Lutheran Church/Missouri Synod. A freewill offering will be taken.
