Communication skills workshops offered for caregivers of people with dementia



The Nevada Caregiver Support Center and the Douglas County Senior Center will be conducting a workshop for family caregivers of people with dementia titled "Communication Skills Workshop for Caregivers."


On April 20, skills for successful communication with people with memory challenges will be discussed, followed by one-on-one coaching.


The workshop will be conducted 2-4 p.m. at the Douglas County Senior Center, located at 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville.


The workshop is designed for professional and family caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease or related memory challenges. Refreshments will be provided.


The State of Nevada Division for Aging Services will be funding the meeting.


This informative workshop is offered at no charge to family caregivers and $10 to professional caregivers.
