Free workshop teaches care for older adults

Are you caring for an older adult and wish you knew more? Attend a free workshop offered 1:15-4:15 p.m. Dec. 4, at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville.

If you are caring for an elder (friend or family member), or if you care for elders professionally, this free training offers tips on how to do it better. The workshop covers:

Help available on the Internet. Finding aging and disability resources on the Web; memory and dementia: How to differentiate between normal brain function and dementia, delirium and depression; self care for the caregiver: Learn stress reduction and self-care techniques to better care for yourself while caring for another.
