Snow on April Fools no joke

About two inches of snow fell overnight in western Carson Valley after a strong storm rolled through Friday.

Chains or snow tires were required over Kingsbury Grade from Foothill Road to Highway 50, according to the Nevada HIghway Patrol. Highway 50 has road controls starting three miles west of the intersection with Highway 395.

State Route 88 and Highway 395 in Carson Valley had no controls, but that changes as motorists leave the Valley and climb into the mountains. Highway 88 is closed from 5 miles west of Pickett's Junction to 2 miles east of Kirkwood.

The next storm isn't due until Sunday night.
