The public is welcome to attend a free Southern Gospel concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church.

The church is pleased to welcome Palmetto State Quartet to Carson City for the first time. The group currently has the number seven song on the Top-100 Gospel Music song list, "When It Pours God Reigns."

The Palmetto State Quartet is one of America's oldest continually touring Southern Gospel quartets. The group has toured continuously since it's inception in Greenville, S.C., some 59 years ago. The original members christened the group "The Palmetto State Quartet" after the traditional nickname of their home state.

While those men have all retired from full-time travel, Palmetto State Quartet's current cast continues singing the traditional Southern Gospel quartet music that brought their name such recognition.

Kerry Beatty, Andrew Ishee, John Rulapaugh, Aaron McCune and Rick Fair individually bring a good measure of experience in ministry and entertainment to Palmetto State Quartet. Together, they are one of America's most exciting, energizing and entertaining Southern Gospel quartets.

There is no charge for the concert. For information, call the church office at 885-8361 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
