Muscle Powered holds business meeting

Alzheimer's Association offers course at center

The Alzheimer's Association will host a dementia specific training program from 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday and June 30. This is a two-part program, both dates must be attended.

This program satisfies State of Nevada dementia training requirements. It will be held at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive. Training fee is $40 per person and includes refreshments, training materials and eight Continuing Education Units as appropriate.

Natural history collection subject of state museum tour

The Nevada State Museum is offering a behind-the-scenes tour of the natural history collection at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Advance reservations are required due to limited space. Regular museum admission applies.

Washoe Valley

Learn to make backyard bird feeders at Washoe Lake

Kids can learn to build an easy and inexpensive backyard bird feeder from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Park Rangers at Washoe Lake State Park will show how to make pine cone and soda pop bottle bird feeders.

All materials are provided. Meet at the Equestrian Group Area.

There is no charge for the program, but there is a $4 per vehicle charge to enter the park.

Evening of Wine and Tchaikovsky slated

An Evening of Wine and Tchaikovsky will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Thunder Canyon Golf Course, 19 Lightning W Ranch Road in Washoe Valley.

Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door.

The evening is a benefit for Pinkerton Ballet Theatre's production of "The Nutcracker."

Restaurants participating include: Thunder Canyon, Shoreline Sushi, Gourmet Door to Door, B'Sghetti's, Moody's, Vista Grill, Food for Thought and Sweetie Pies.

Vendors needed for VC senior center Spring Fling Sale

The Storey County Senior Center will hold its Spring Fling Sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 23 at the center, at the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City.

Table rental and vendors are welcome for $10.

The center is also accepting quality items for donation to sell.
