Kids' carp fishing derbyat Lahontan Reservoir

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is sponsoring a one-day, kids' carp fishing derby at Lahontan Reservoir on Sunday, June 6.

This special derby is designed for children and is free to all participants.

The hours of the derby are 8 a.m. to noon.

Meeting place is the north boat ramp at Lahontan Reservoir.

Pre-Registration is required.

There is a minimum age of 3 to compete and a parent or guardian must accompany any children under the age of 16.

Note: A valid fishing license is required for those 12 years old or older.

Participants are requested to provide their own tackle.

There are a limited number of rods available for use by those who do not have their own fishing equipment.
