Kids' Carp Derby at Lahontan Res.

The Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) is sponsoring a free, carp derby for kids on Saturday, June 4 at Lahontan Reservoir.

It will start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

The meeting place will be at the North Boat Ramp at Lahontan Reservoir.

That ramp is located just off U.S. 50 between Silver Springs and Fallon.

There will be a contest for the largest carp caught with categories by age.

There is a minimum age of 3 years. A parent or guardian must accompany all children under 16.

Registration is required.

Participants need to have their own fishing tackle.

Note: A fishing license is required for those who are 12 years old or older.
