Obituary: Lois H. Nelson

Lois H. Nelson, 65, a Carson City resident and lifelong Nevada resident, died Oct. 6, 2003, at home. She was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Tonopah, to Christian Alvin and Vivian Agnes Henn Hansen.

She graduated from Carson High School and attended a beauty academy in Oregon.

Mrs. Nelson worked in administrative services for the state of Nevada, as a typographer for South Western Horseman, and was a manicurist.

She was a pencil artist, floral arranger, cake decorator and crafter. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, creative memories and Elvis. She was a bowler and a sorority member. She loved traveling with her lifelong friend Carol Moore of Carson City.

Among her survivors are her son, Steve C. of Dayton; daughters and sons-in-law Stacey and Randy Selmi of Dayton and Sherri and Warren Johnson of Adin, Calif.; daughter Shaunna Thorson of Fallon; sisters Carolyn Clay of Mound House and Ruthann Wagner of Carson City; grandchildren Christin, Jamie and Cody Selmi of Dayton, Randi, Warren Clayton and William Johnson of Adin and Jasen Thorson of Fallon; one nephew and one niece.

A private family memorial service will be at a later time.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
