Douglas boys fall in tournament

FOUNTAIN VALLEY 40, DOUGLAS BOYS 39

The Douglas boys basketball team held a 37-30 lead with two minutes left, but couldn't hang on at the Torrey Pines National Prep Classic in San Diego.

Fountain Valley of Southern California went on an 8-0 to take a 38-37 lead. Luke Rippee scored with 4.8 seconds left to give Douglas a 39-38 lead, but Fountain Valley scored at the buzzer for the win. Andy McIntosh scored nine points, Nick Summers added eight points and Eric Emm added seven points for the Tigers.
