Obituary: Marguerite Bowers

A funeral for Marguerite Bowers, 78, a Carson City resident for the past 50 years, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bowers died March 15, 2000, at her home. She was born March 16, 1921, in Brandish, Neb., to Rudolph and Reka Adelia Renken Loder.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Wells.

Mrs. Bowers was a retired bank teller. She worked for the First National Bank of Nevada for 30 years. She was also an active member of the PTA, Altar Society, Beta Sigma Phi, Republican Women, American Institute of Banking and she was a Pink Lady at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She loved reading, cooking and gardening. The family was extremely active in scouting in Carson City.

Among her survivors are her sons Thomas and Mark, both of Carson City, Daniel of Reno and Timothy of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Rudolph of Twin Falls, Idaho, Harvey who is on the road and Robert of Winnemucca; sisters Maxine and Millicent, both of Carson City; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
