Obituary: Gerturde Clouatre

A funeral for Gertrude H. Clouatre, 89, a Carson City resident for the past two years and former Virginia City resident, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary in the Mountain Catholic Church in Virginia City.

Mrs. Clouatre died Oct. 11, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born June 1, 1910, in Golden, Ill., to Andrew and Beckie Block Harberts.

Before moving to Carson City, she had lived in Virginia City for 61 years.

Mrs. Clouatre worked as a telephone operator for 35 years for Pacific Bell. She enjoyed painting, crafts, sewing, gardening and reading.

Among her survivors are her sisters, Ruth Yancey, of Las Vegas and Naomi Dean, of Woodriver, Neb., and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at the Virginia City Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
