Dan Kafer of Douglas County was recently honored by the High Sierra Fly Casters Club at their annual dinner.
He was selected as the recipient of the annual Mike Solgat Achievement Award.
Kafer was honored for this outstanding service to the maintenance and care of the Carson River Drainage.
He is the Area Co-Ordinator for the Western Nevada Resources Conservation and Development Council and is employed by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The Mike Solgat Award is named in honor of Mike Solgat.
He was the founder of the fly club and died in 1996.
