Obituary: Betty C. Hibbett

A service for Betty C. Hibbett, 74, a McPherson, Kan. resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson.

Mrs. Hibbett died Aug. 9, 2000, at her home. She was born May 1, 1926, in Minneapolis, Kan., to Claude L. and Beulah G. Schur Barber.

She lived in Carson City from 1968-86.

She married Lawrence Gayner Oct. 5, 1947. She later married Dr. William P. Hibbett Nov. 3, 1968, in Carson City. He preceded her in death Aug. 13, 1984.

Mrs., Hibbett was a registered nurse and worked as a private hospital and county health nurse. She was a member of Countryside Covenant Church, a former board member and volunteer for the American Red Cross and past president of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Among her survivors are her son Jeff of Daytona Beach, Fla.; daughters Linda Totman and Nancy Shaw, both of McPherson; brother Ron Barber of Quinlan, Texas; stepsons Mike Hibbett of Wenatchee, Wash. and Dan Hibbett of Nampa, Idaho; stepdaughter Linda Burnett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Arthritis Foundation, Countryside Covenant Church Building Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
