Dinner History Theater set in Virginia City on Sept. 30

Secret Service Catering presents Dinner History Theater at the Historic Fourth Ward School in Virginia City Sept. 30. It will feature a combination of wining, dining and learning.

Guest for the first history theater will be Guy Rocha, Nevada State Archivist and an entertaining source of truth and history. "The Comstock, like virtually every other place in the nation, has its share of folklore, fake lore and fable," Rocha stated.

"Too often myth passes for history in our schools, publications, productions and personal lives. We are drowning in a sea of misinformation that too many people accept uncritically as fact."

Rocha considers himself a history cop and information broker and plans to set the record straight on some of the Comstock's most well known myths using examples from his well-known Myth-A-Month column.

Add a nice Cabernet, a look at the panoramic view of the city on the hill and dinner in the classroom (pork loin with port pear sauce and garlic whipped potatoes) and you've got a true, epicurean social.

Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a no host bar, dinner at 6 and lecture with Guy Rocha immediately following. The cost is $47.50 per person (vegetarian entrees available upon request) and seating is limited, so reserve a seat soon.

For reservations or information call Heather, 847-0151.
