The identities of eight people killed in a capsized boat were released on Tuesday morning.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Division has positively identified the victims. The victims are as follows:
The body of the last missing person from a capsized boat was recovered by El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office rescuers on Monday afternoon.
“There are no more unaccounted persons from the event,” the Sheriff’s Office reported on social media. “The search and recovery efforts have been concluded. The victim identifications will be released when all notifications have been made.”
The Sheriff’s Office expressed its condolences to the families of of those affected by the event.
“The Sheriff’s Office also wishes to thank the numerous law enforcement, fire agencies, the California State Parks and the United States Coast Guard for their assistance in this search and recovery.”

El Dorado County is continuing Search and Rescue operations today and using dive team members from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office.
A 27-foot gold Chris-Craft vessel with 10 aboard went over around 3 p.m. Saturday in high winds off D.L. Bliss State Park at Lake Tahoe, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Weather was reported to be 30 knot winds and 6-8 foot swell.
The Coast Guard, El Dorado Sheriff’s Office, Tahoe Douglas and Washoe County boats responded to the incident.
The Coast Guard suspended its search Sunday morning, pending further developments, for two missing people in the vicinity of D.L. Bliss State Park at Lake Tahoe after their boat capsized Saturday afternoon, killing six others and injuring two.
“Suspending a search is always a difficult decision to make and weighs heavily on each Coast Guard member involved,” said Coast Guard Cmdr. David Herndon, a search and rescue mission coordinator assigned to Coast Guard Sector San Francisco. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those involved in the boat capsize.”
Coast Guard and partner agencies searched over 390 square miles for 12 combined hours for the two missing boaters. Six occupants of the boat were confirmed dead and two were transported for treatment.
Tahoe-Douglas Fire Protection District, committed Marine 24 and two ambulances, along with trained rescue swimmers to assist rescuing the victims.
Rescue swimmers from Tahoe Douglas operated from Marine 24 in coordination with Marine 17 and Marine 3, conducting multiple recovery efforts. Tahoe-Douglas Firefighter-Paramedic Matt Stevenston recovered two individuals, while Capt. Trent Renner, a rescue swimmer from North Tahoe Fire, recovered a third and swam the victims to Marine 24. None of the three survived.
“This incident underscores the unpredictable and hazardous conditions that Lake Tahoe can present, as well as the critical importance of interagency coordination and preparedness,” said Tahoe Douglas Spokeswoman Michelle Turner. “It also serves as a somber reminder of the life-saving importance of wearing a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket while on the water. Even the most experienced swimmers can be overwhelmed by sudden weather changes, high winds, or cold-water shock.”
Officials said that wearing a life vest greatly increases the chance of survival during unexpected emergencies.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and communities affected by this tragedy,” the district said. “We extend our deepest gratitude to all the agencies and responders involved.”

Searchers will be back on the water today looking for two people who are missing after a boat capsized on Saturday afternoon, killing six and injuring two more.

The Coast Guard, El Dorado Sheriff’s Office, Tahoe Douglas and Washoe County boats responded to the incident.
The two survivors were rescued by officers who jumped in the water, according to residents who were monitoring the marine radio.
El Dorado County’s Search and Rescue and its dive team will return to the area in the morning to continue search operations.
