At the last event of the school year on June 10, Tahoe Douglas Elks presented awards for students of the month and the students of the year at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

The 8th grade graduating class had nine students of the month including a student of the year.

Tahoe Douglas Elks President Joe Gaestel and Treasurer Bev Anderson presented each deserving student with the Achievement Certificate and an Amazon Gift Card. Principal Amy Carter stood with her students.

Adriana Del Real, Piper Everett, Lexie Ferguson, Melody Ferris, Reegan Milligan, Hayden Stroner, Eli VanderMay, Dante Woffinden and student of the year Annie Brown.

The Elks also presented student of the month and year awards to eight Carson Valley Middle School students on June 9.

President Joe Gaestel and Treasurer Bev Anderson presented each student with a congratulatory Certificate of Achievement and an Amazon gift Card. Kloe Dietrich was chosen by her teachers as student of the year.

Also recognized were Kiptyn Martin, Tyler Weaver, Vivan Evangelista-Aguila, Stella Pogue, Lily Johnson, Joseph Rodriguez-Mendoza and Nora Sanchez.
