Genoa, Nev. — Commissioners will discuss a 2.59 percent rate increase for Douglas Disposal collections and service rates that’s allowed under the franchise agreement with the county. Commissioners meet 10 a.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St., Minden.
An agreement on a $75,900 state Commission for Cultural Centers and Historic Preservation grant goes before commissioners today to pay for an architectural team to estimate the cost to restore the Dangberg Home Ranch bunkhouses. The ranch is operated by the Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch but owned and maintained by the county.
A two-year contract with Minden Lawyers LLC to provide legal services to the offices of Douglas County Public Guardian and Public Administrator for $5,000 a month plus statutory fees is on county commissioners’ consent agenda today.
The bee-siest part of the agenda will be the proclamation of June 16-22 as Pollinator Week, which is pretty much the extent of Douglas County commissioners’ agenda today.
Gardnerville Town Board members approved charging for the electric car chargers on Tuesday night.

We’re looking at another mild day before the temperature starts to climb again. The forecast high today is 83 degrees with the zephyr picking up this afternoon at 5-10 mph. I don’t see any record breaking hot days on the horizon, but it will get into the low 90s next week before cooling off a bit.
