Genoa, Nev. — Two men accused in the July 14, 2023, robbery of the COD Casino in Minden are scheduled to appear in district court today for a pretrial conference. Chase Henderson and Andrew Toomey are scheduled for trial in mid-May. Henderson is serving a five-year sentence in prison after admitting to battering another prisoner while awaiting trial.


Clear Creek Tahoe is seeking a master plan and zoning map amendment for its final phase. The project received approval for 19 homes in October 2024 but is back after the developer determined it would be more feasible to reduce that to six lots. Planning commissioners meet 1 p.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse.

Monitor Pass reopened on Monday after just 72 days, the shortest closure in a decade, according to the California Department of Transportation. Last year it reopened April 10.


It’s going to start to warm up today with a forecast high temperature of 69 degrees and the wind out of the east at 5-10 mph, shifting wet in the afternoon and gusting to 20 mph.
