Three Douglas County residents were sworn in as new Special Advocates for the Elderly after completing training.

Andrea Rajeski, Debra Evans and Gil Evans will serve as volunteers to act as a voice in court for individuals who are involved in the District Court.

District judges Tod Young and Tom Gregory swore in the new volunteers on March 22, asking them to always advocate for the best interests of those individuals they are assisting.

The program is in its 15th year, having been established by Judges Dave Gamble and Michael Gibbons in 2009.
